Terms of Service
Last updated October 15, 2026
These terms are between NovusEcom (“we”), the maker of GroupCart, and the store that installs GroupCart (“you”). By installing or using GroupCart you agree to them. Shopify’s own terms also apply to your use of Shopify and its App Store.
The service
GroupCart lets a group of shoppers fill one cart together on your store, and one of them checks out for everyone in your normal Shopify checkout. We may improve or change GroupCart over time. If a change removes something you rely on, we will tell you in advance where we reasonably can.
Plans and billing
- Plans, prices and any free trial are shown on GroupCart’s App Store listing and on Shopify’s plan page.
- Shopify bills you for GroupCart on your Shopify invoice, under Shopify’s billing terms. We never see your payment details.
- You can change or cancel your plan at any time from GroupCart’s page in your Shopify admin (Manage plan), or by uninstalling the app.
- When a plan ends, group carts already started stay visible to shoppers for 7 days and can still be checked out, but no new ones can be started.
Your part
- Use GroupCart lawfully, and only on stores you are allowed to manage.
- Your store’s own privacy policy should tell your shoppers that you use apps such as GroupCart. What GroupCart keeps is described in our Privacy Policy.
- Orders, payments, shipping, taxes, returns and your relationship with your customers stay yours, as with any other order in your store.
- Don’t try to disrupt GroupCart, reach other stores’ data, or get around its limits.
How we process your shoppers’ data
For the personal data of your shoppers in GroupCart, you are the controller and we are your processor. These terms are your instructions to us, and we:
- process that data only to run GroupCart for your store, as described in our Privacy Policy, and for nothing else;
- never sell it, and never use it for advertising or for any other store;
- keep it confidential, and give access only to those who need it to run GroupCart;
- use service providers only to host our server and database and to report errors to us, under obligations that protect the data as these terms do;
- protect it with encrypted connections, encrypted storage, and each store reaching only its own data;
- answer your questions about a shopper’s request to see or erase their data (a display name is not tied to an email, phone or account, so a request cannot always be matched to a cart; every cart is deleted within the times in our Privacy Policy);
- tell you without undue delay if we learn of a breach affecting your shoppers’ data;
- delete the data within the times in our Privacy Policy, and when you uninstall GroupCart: your group carts, access key and plan at once, anything left within 48 hours.
The data is stored in the United States.
Availability
We work to keep GroupCart running, but we can’t promise it will never be interrupted. If GroupCart can’t be reached, your store, cart and checkout keep working as usual; only the group cart is unavailable until it is back.
Ending
You can stop using GroupCart at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or end GroupCart for a store that breaks these terms, and we may stop offering GroupCart altogether with reasonable notice.
Liability
GroupCart is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost sales or profits, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid for GroupCart in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits a liability that the law does not allow to be limited.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change in substance, we update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use GroupCart after a change means you accept the new terms.
